Masso Torrence Pantle
Simplifying the complexities of your success
MTP Private Wealth at Farther advises successful business owners, specialty physicians, high-earning professionals, and retirees across southern New Jersey. As wealth grows, so does the complexity around it, and so does the cost of an avoidable mistake. We work out what to do about it.
Partners since 1999
Chris Masso and John Torrence formed their partnership in 1999 at Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown and have advised successful individuals and families on their wealth together ever since.
Fiduciary
Advisory services are offered through Farther Finance Advisors, LLC, and every relationship is held to a fiduciary standard. The advice has to serve your interest, not ours.
Marlton, NJ
Serving families and employers across southern New Jersey and greater Philadelphia.
What we solve
The complications
arrive with the success
Will I have enough is rarely the whole question for our clients. What comes with it is an accountant and an attorney who have never been on the same call, a tax bill that arrives as a surprise, and a set of decisions that all interact.
- A portfolio built over decades, and the sense that one wrong move could undo a lot of it.
- A concentrated position you cannot sell without a tax bill.
- An estate plan you are no longer certain says what you want it to say.
- A 401(k) at your own company that someone approved years ago and nobody has reviewed since.
- An offer for the business, and sixty days to work out what it means for your family.
Who you would work with
A boutique firm, with the reach of a much larger one
MTP is four people in Marlton. Chris Masso and John Torrence formed their partnership in 1999, Nick Pantle joined in 2017, and the three of them work as one team: whoever picks up the phone can talk through the sale of your business, the plan at your company, or the gift to your kids. You will know all of us, and we will know you.
Operating at Farther gives that small team open architecture: a technology-forward platform, multiple custodians for client assets, access to private equity and other alternative strategies where they fit, tax-efficient investing, an estate planning team, and multi-family office capabilities for families whose needs go past traditional wealth management. All of it coordinated with your accountant and attorney, by the people who know you.

Two practices, one firm
Start with the side of the firm you need
The work splits cleanly, and so does the site. Most people know within a sentence which of these they came for.

For individuals and families
Private Wealth
Planning, portfolio management, and tax strategy for families whose finances outgrew a simple answer. Most of our private clients arrive through their accountant or their attorney, and the work runs for decades.

For employers and nonprofits
Retirement Plans
401(k), cash balance, SIMPLE, SEP, and 403(b) plans. Chris and John have consulted on company plans as partners since 1999, on whichever platform serves the plan rather than the one that serves us. For nonprofits, the work extends beyond the 403(b) to the organization's own reserves and endowment.
The platform behind us
Our advice, built on Farther's Intelligent Wealth Platform
Our advisory services are offered through Farther Finance Advisors, LLC. Farther's Intelligent Wealth Platform is the technology behind the accounts we manage: it builds tax work into the day-to-day running of a portfolio and gathers your whole financial picture in one place. We decide how each part applies to your plan.
Tax-aware portfolio management
The platform looks for chances to reduce the tax on your portfolio through the year, with automated tax-loss harvesting, asset location across taxable and retirement accounts, and portfolios customized around the positions you already hold.
Access to private markets
Farther gives its advisors a selection of private market investments to consider alongside public ones. We use them only where they fit your plan, your timeline, and how soon you may need the money.
Your full picture in one place
One secure login shows your accounts, investments, documents, and progress toward your goals, whether the assets sit at Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Pershing, or Apex. Farther's operations team handles much of the paperwork, which leaves us more time for planning with you.
Private investments are available only to qualified clients and involve risks, including the potential loss of the entire investment, limited liquidity, and limited transparency.
How this starts
Three steps, and no obligation to continue
Nobody hires a wealth manager on a first call. The point of the first two steps is to find out whether there is a reason for a third.
01
A conversation
Half an hour, by phone or in the Marlton office. You describe the situation. We tell you whether this is work we are the right firm for.
02
A clear picture
We map what you have against what you are trying to do, then name the gaps we find: tax exposure, estate structure, concentration risk, plan fees.
03
One team, coordinating
If it makes sense to work together, we hold the whole picture. Your accountant and attorney stay involved, and stop getting different answers from different people.
The team
Four people, and you will know all of them
Our mission
What the work is for
Every family that reaches us wants some version of the same thing: to stop having to think about it. To know the plan is sound, the tax work is handled, and the person managing it will pick up the phone.
That is the whole job. We build the plan, run the portfolio, coordinate with your accountant and attorney, and carry the parts you would rather not hold yourself.
